![]() Dying Light 2 conveniently breaks down its gear into four classes (even though there are no classes in the traditional sense): the Brawler, Tank, Ranger, and Medic.īrawler loot focuses on one-handed melee weapons and stamina regeneration. Your gear level contributes to your overall gear armor score, which measures how much protection your armor grants you, but there are many other stats to consider. Higher rank gear doesn't always necessarily mean it's better. However, there is one way to stretch out the life of your weapons just a little bit longer: Modding. There's no NPC or workbench dedicated to fixing broken weapons, and it isn't an option in your basic crafting menu. And to be fair, that's because you sort of can't. Takedowns will always be an instant kill on enemies at your level or below, but anything higher will only take a portion of damage and then be made aware of your presence.ĭying Light 2 doesn't tell you how to repair your weapons. ![]() Spears can often be found stuck in bodies with a green light guiding you towards them.Įxplosive canisters can be safely hit once to set them off for a timed explosion (or you can grab them to manually set a timed detonation), and bottles or bricks can be picked up and thrown Last of Us-style to stagger enemies and open them up to either a vault or power attack.īe careful when you try to use a stealth takedown on enemies of a higher rank than you. Those that pounce on you with "fangs" sticking out on each side of their mouth, hideous looking,ĭo they see through camo? If not, then this quest should be easy.Whenever you're fighting against a bunch of enemies in a closed arena or a single powerful enemy, take some time to run around and use your survivor sense to note anything you can use to your advantage. I spent time at the bottom of the cliff face and now realize that all the hives are high up, this using up valuable time.Įvolved volatiles will see through camo, but normal volatiles won't be able to. I read that one has only eight minutes to destroy all the hives before morning. Thanks for the help offer, but I should have been able to complete this quest on my own, others do. I quickly learnt to throw flares ahead of me as I ran. I even died when I left the tower near the cave at 9pm. I died once when I fell off a ledge, once when a toad quickly depleted my health and I could not even see where it was, I died twice when grabbed by a volatile and tapping the escape key frantically did not save me. ![]() ![]() I destroyed two of the four hives but when night was suddenly over there were just too many of them to survive. I thought that camo does not work on these volatiles. I spent an hour at a near by hunting tower waiting for 9pm so getting there was not a problem. Originally posted by MeanBill:It really is MUCH easier inside the Hives at night as there should be no Volatiles in the Hive itself, other than the stationary ones melded into the gorund which you have to kill to "un-Hive" the place permenantly. Once you start being able to craft weapons of 3000+ damage you can finally get some revenge on the Volatiles and sneak up on them in camoflauge, striking them down with a long button hold strong melee swing and at worst a couple quick follow up strikes as you circle around them before they can hit back. Get in really close as it nears 20:30 or so and you should be clear of the sudden appearance of Volatiles all over the landscape and can slip in without any seeing you. If getting to the Hives at night is your main problem (which is totally understandable, I can get to some of them after dozens of hours of experimenting and leveling up like 30+ Legendary points into melee and asrchery) but many are so out of the way and far from safe zones it's ridiculous to even try imho) You can simply head very near to a Hive during the day and putter around killing random stuff for a while as you wait for nightfall. DO NOT let that blood wear off of you or you will be swarmed and there's no where to run in most Hives. Just be sure to overdo the camoflauge application. The Virals become a lot easier to take out with liberal use of the camoflauge / neck break combo.
